Niue is one of my favourite places in the Pacific, not just because nobody has heard of it, but it is also one of the most lovely islands (it it actually an uplifted atoll, if you want to be pedantic) in the area. The views along its coast are dramatic and the sunsets almost unfailingly lovely. It also has a population of about thirteen hundred people, which means everyone knows each other and people are hospitable to a fault and the general atmosphere is very relaxed.Being formed by coral, the limestone that has been a derivative, has formed numerous caves, those that go down to the water at Avaiki are nice, complete with stalagmites and stalactites.  The Hikulagi sculpture park is just that, there are totems, I think they were anyway and a table of sorts. The Matapa chasm makes a good spot for snorkelling, sheltered from the pounding surf.  The Talaua Arches are a picturesque formation in the sea. Togo is one of the most interesting looking places I have visited in the Pacific. The collection of spear like rocks makes an impressive vista.
