I am trying with varying success to take more interesting photos of fireworks. The problem (aside from my capability) with getting better at this being the lack and brevity of opportunities.
These were taken at friends' fireworks display in their garden.
These were in the same place, the difference being that they are writing and drawings and so forth done with sparklers. A 30 second exposure was used on a 16mm lens. It's harder than one might think to write and draw so steadily on such a large and ephemeral canvas.
These were fireworks celebrating Diwali. The display was in a garden about half a mile from my place. I used a tripod mounted 200mm lens with varying lengths of exposure to get the result. I like the way some of them look a bit like flowers.
Some photos from
fireworks at friends.
