I think that the winter light and other aspects make it a particularly interesting time for photography. I have tried to capture some of those aspects.

This was the view from my bedroom window at dawn. Within just a few minutes, the light had changed and the sun was up, without a trace of the lurid colours left in the sky.

I went for a walk in the woods near my home at sunset, as I wanted to see what the red sky looked like through the trees. En route, the sun setting over a side street created a nice glow on the road.

Some frost in the garden, I like how it looks all thorny on the plants.

Some frosty trees on my way to meet my friend for lunch in Essex.
