Alnwick (pronounced Annick) Castle is home to the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland, the Percey family. It is unusual in so far as many of the rooms are impressive historical repositories of architecture, art and literature, whilst still showing signs of modern life. In one room one might see a flat screen television or space so that table tennis can be played.

The castle has also been used in various films and television programmes, most notably Harry Potter and Downton Abbey.

It is a fun place to explore being one of the few big castles in a good state of repair, let alone still lived in.
