I visited Stratford-Upon-Avon and the surrounding
area over the festive period, hence the snow and festive lights.
These are some pictures of Stratford itself. It has some
lovely Tudor buildings and is in picturesque surroundings. Much of Stratford's
appeal is to those visiting to see Shakespeare's birthplace or any other
building associated with the bard.
Warwick, as well as being an attractive town has a very
impressive castle, which is mostly intact and has nice grounds and gardens. They
also have staff dressed in various types of period costumes, performing,
guiding, informing and displaying.
What they made squires do was often inappropriate and
certainly didn't need demonstration in a diorama.
I only took a few photos in Warwick itself.
Spent just a short time in Stow, which is very pretty. I
especially liked the icicles, which I think are seasonal.
The countryside near Stratford looked particularly pretty
with the snow.
